Bath caddy

Perhaps not strictly 'period property'....but I on on the hunt for a 'bath caddy' for a large/wide roll-top bath. When Mrs F has finished pruning the wisteria etc. she does rather enjoy a relaxing soak, but there is little in the way of reachable storage for soap etc. around the bath.

I've seen lots of chrome types, but they all look a bit tacky. I was hoping to find something a bit unusual (brass perhaps) or in some kind of wood? Has anyone come across anything like this?

This one comes in polished brass. Both have facilities for wine, which would make them strong contenders if it were my choice!

I really want one of these now, but it might be overkill for my yearly bath. That one we both like is in America- damn Americans get all the best stuff.

Does your wife like Brissi? It's so beautiful to my mind... one of my favourite shops in Marylebone High St; I'd love just to copy their bathroom.

Joce - I agree with you...there are some lovely things in the US (I'm particularly fond of some of the stuff at www.Frontgate.com). Not sure if you are aware, but I have used www.myus.com which is a mail forwarding service. Basically, it gives you a US street address for purchasing stuff off the internet and they then ship it to you in the UK. In the past when sterling was so strong against the dollar, it was great and I bought allsorts from the US....at the moment, it's not so great...but even so, there are some good deals to be had.

How useful, thank you. I've often heard that mentioned and wondered if there was any truth in it. I'd be nervous about ordering expensive products from the States, the one time I did, some pearl earrings, their seemingly low price was negated by the big fat surprise tax bill that they arrived with.

I swear those Yanks value old stuff and retro styling more than we do- so many British antiques seem to get shipped there, and they appear to love "old charm" knick-knacks alongside their remote control curtains, swimming pools, and walk-in fridges.
