Unfortunately the Orange Cephalopod Art Appreciation Society hasn't yet managed to recruit too many members in this area.Matt Green said:All art appreciation is subjective. It may be the council is trying to avoid a precedent being set which, given some interpretations of what is art, could lead to something being painted on a building that would appeal to a far smaller sub-set of people than the orange Cephalopods do.
Ok, so what sort of picture/mural might we expect from a funeral directors or a butcher?robgil said:This isnt a house guys , its a hostel for young ''surfer dude'' people.
I can hardly see that as a relevant argument in this case. Yes, barns are sometimes required to be painted black - in areas where barns are traditionally painted black. That hardly constitutes "out of place".robgil said:Councils also like to force people to paint barns etc black , which could also be argued as being hideous and out of place.
