What does Gary's sexuality have to do with this? :wink:Jon Maine said:a very clued up straight chap called Gary
I'm also planning a wood burning stove with back boiler, but I've been told that the back boiler effectively takes out heat from the stove so less is radiated into the room, although the 'split' seems to vary quite a bit according to manufacturer's data.Jon Maine said:The room it is in will get very hot heating the water for the other rooms in my experience.

My experience with woodburners is that there are very few days when they give out anything like their rated heat. I wonder if this is because multi fuel stoves (or ones that can be multi fuel) are rated for coal. I have not had a woodburner with back boiler though.
