Absolutely. As FF says, a mortgage survey is only for the benefit of the lenders. When I lived for a few years in a posh Thames-side flat (1990 built), it was a "drive-by survey" (!!!) which was fair enough as the place was maintained meticulously.cre8toruk said:I paid for my own survey in addition to the Mortgage valuation survey (waste of time)

We have a fireplace and chimney in our garage. Completely pointless these days but I'm not about to remove it or block it up, though it is missing a chimney pot that I think should be replaced one day. It's on the list.
