Anyone use a good supplier of Jam jars etc?

My supply of Jam Jars, is depleted after a good blackcurrant, gooseberry and loganberry harvest. In readienss for the plums and damsons I need some more.

I've tried google searching for small holding supplies etc and found

who seem to be pretty competitive, but I was just wondering if anyone else on here buys these sort of goods and if so where do you get them from?

Thanks pieman, but Ascott are cheaper and include lids.

Mark, yep, that's Ascott, where I found them as well.

I'll just use them I think.

I had this same problem last year, and I was staggered to find that the cheapest place I could get 1lb jars was Tesco. They cost 31 pence each, and yes they come already filled with strawberry or mixed fruit jam. Please somebody tell me that the world hasn’t gone completely mad, and that there is somewhere that sells empty jars for less than that?

Why not try Freecycle if there's a group in your area? Probably no good if you want matching jars, but I know I've got rid of a large collection of glass jars to people through there.

I suppose it's down to quantity, Tesco no doubt by a million at a time and direct from manufacturer,w hereas I'll buy say a hundred from the tenth person in the line!!!!

Mind you, buying Tesco jam and donating the insides to a local shelter etc will serve two purposes!!!!!!

We've used Ascott for all sorts of smallholding stuff, and they'd very good. Prices are generally competitive and delivery is prompt.

I once saw 'value' jam being sold in plastic bags - no bottle, just a sealed bag with, not sure but maybe half a pound in it.
