Any Surveyor recommendations please, London area

Hello

Theres another thread with similar area of question active at mo, and not wishing to hijack that, but would be grateful if anyone has experience of RICS Surveyor that they could recommend, based in London area, and sympathetic with old buildings, of course! Its not for purposes of buying a house, rather just one issue we'd like guidance on.

Its difficult to know who to choose when looking at listings online...

Going to give this a bump back up as I've just got back the Mortgage valuation on our potential new place down in sarf london. It really is just a tick box job, great from the getting a mortgage point of view (it gives a 100% of our purchase price value), useless for any longer term planning.

In particular I supect the rebuild cost is a bit low the building is 200sqm (measured externally) and the surveyor has a rebuild cost of £360K which according to this telegraph article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/.../2805529/Hidden-costs-of-historic-houses.html this is very low end. (The freeholders insurance for the converted victorian building our current flat is part of is £1.2M for comparison)

So before we exchange contracts I'd like to get a good period buildings surveyor round so any one got recommendations for south east london? Ideally I'm looking for someone who will also give me a verbal report with a bit more "colour" than a pure written report.
