Any recommendations for Outdoor/garden Light suppliers?

Hi

We are now looking for some lights to go in the garden and wondering if anyone had any recommendations of well priced but good quality lights.

Most lights with the relevant IP rating should be suitable - IP44 is the minimum I'd accept. The primary consideration is what looks right.

If you are running cables round the garden to feed them with 230 volts AC, then there are some other considerations, such as the armour quality of the cable you use or the conduit the cable runs in.

If the lights are on the house, fed with suitable cable/conduit, your local electrician can do a job for you. Beyond that, I'd be looking to use 12 volt lights with a suitable "safety" power supply.

Depends on your house style etc.

Personally, I would avoid anything plastic or anything in cheap pressed steel with a thin 'plasticky' black coat...they fade quickly and start to peel.

They're not the cheapest, but a copper lantern finish will look great and get better with time
