Some time this week the builders will be barrowing tons of concrete path and assorted rubbish through the house and filling the first skip.
Then they'll fill the next skip with the kitchen units, lino, and rotten chipboard and we'll enjoy an interesting week living in the back sitting room with the fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, and the little camping stove from my allotment, and filling the kettle from the bath tap.
It's sooooo exciting!

We've been living exactly like that for 3 months. I've got used to it now, kitchens are over rated, perhaps I should turn it into a snooker room instead! We've also got a bucket under a lashed up outside tap in the kitchen with a bucket underneath for hand washing, that gets emptied down the drain every other day.

Yes, I've been living like that for over a year now. Kitchens indeed, lot of hassle and expense, when you can cook perfectly good macaroni cheese on a camping stove!

Kitchens are simple. A few old floorboards, a bit of old worktop, a caravan sink, and a few other bits found lying around. No need for hi-tech plumbing, and with thick walls there's room for a small oven and 2 ring hob behind the curtain on the right. You can knock one up in no time, move it around and adapt it easily, then dismantled and reuse the materials .
