This is nasty - worse because the conversions had been done and it was/is peoples' homes.
I heard this on the news and thought I'd misheard - it had already been converted into flats so no developer's greedy paws in it - though perhaps someone's insurance is worth more than their negative equity or something.
I wish the builders in my house wouldn't smoke. They stand outside the back door - but the smell is all over the house so I know they do it. I'm getting paranoid about sweeping up wood shavings, just in case.

I'm getting too cynical in my dotage.

Good grief, Plumbers Mate, it's your house...you tell 'em to go somewhere else to smoke!! One electrician we had once smoked....I made him go all the way down the drive to do it!!
