I seem to recall posting on the other rug thread that we were searching for an unusually coloured rug for our snug. I believe I also mentioned (somewhere here!) that Pip was going to view one potential candidate I had hunted down. Well, it turned out to be absolutely perfect for our requirements, in both the smazing colours and the design and he collected it the other day!
It's a vintage wool Tabriz, measuring 10' x 13'.
If anyone is still rug-hunting, I can wholeheartedly recommend Thames Oriental Rug Ltd at Marlow Bottom, Bucks.
As an aside, whilst collecting our new acquisition Pip had to wait for a lady to be served. It was none other than Lucinda Lambton, who lives just up the road. Sadly, I wasn't with Pip at the time as I've always found her extremely fascinating, have several of her books and would loved to have met her
She was purchasing three rugs, which I guess is in itself somewhat of an endorsement of the gallery
Anyway, here are some piccies. We are definitely going way more eclectic in the snug, as you may notice! There are a few things to get still.......such as more art work, extra cushions and a fireguard to prevent holes in my new treasure, plus those cables need tidying, lol :roll:
