Just wondered if anyone knows of a product that is an environmentally/health friendly alternative to scotchgard? We need to protect our new fabric furniture - but we have a baby and young son and I have heard scotchgard is quite toxic.
We found the best alterative to scotchguard was the plasrtic our new sofas came in... lasted us for 6 months. Mind you we were working around them at the time, lime plastering, stripping beams, painting etc.
In fact there is an entry for Graham's top tips here. Don't order new sofas on Multiyork's 6 week delivery schedule, until you are much less than 6 weeks from completing your works. Otherwise you will still be working around them when you are 5 months into the final 6 weeks.
