Well it's missing the beard and the glasses but otherwise it is looking suspiciously like Biff.

The curious thing is how little information there is on the net about this window, allegedly the oldest complete stained glass window in England. Even older than the building it's in. I'd like to know how that happened.

Those aren't wings: those are his cope. Standard ecclesiastical eucharistic vestment (and piggin' hot in summer).

There will be a record of all that is known about the window: we have a thick tome for all the "interesting" bits of our Grade 1 listed c1208 church. Whether anyone will know where the book is now, is another question.

Cope not wings eh. Well, they look like feathers to me. Maybe the idea that angels have wings came about when somebody mistook a picture of an angel wearing a cope for wings. When do we first find pictures of winged angels? According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cope the cope was used in the 9th century as a liturgical vestment.

Ah I find that

The oldest existing examples of winged angels are seen in some bas-reliefs of Carthage and a representation on ivory of St. Michael, both attributed to the fourth century.

according to http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/01485a.htm which makes wings older than copes, and note that this is St Michael, the same guy as in the Dalbury glass.
