abutment flashing and cobble/stone walls

I would like advice on how I should go about fitting flashing to cobble/stone walls. I have recently re slated the roof over our kitchen which sits in between two irregular cobble/stone walls. I've done soakers under each course but to complete am at a loss as to how to do the flashing. I can't do step flashing as the stones are not regular. I don't want to lime mortar over the lead as I think the mortar would crack and fall off and I don't want to cut a groove in the wall to fit a flap of lead into...

Welcome colind9. This might be of help to you...



I know it shows the lead flashing turned into a chase but, as you don't want to use that method, you could fit the lead behind the renderstop, fixing it through the mesh with the screws and washers at no more than 500 mm centres at least 25 mm down from the top edge of the lead and not at the laps. I would use stainless steel render stop, screws and washers and then render in the normal way.

I presume there is no dpm in the wall to stop any damp penetrating below the roofline so you will be relying on the lime render to help prevent the wall becoming wet.
