In recent years I've got very lazy about playing music - I have tended just to play the nearest CD without much thought to content.
But I decided a day or two ago that my old LP's have sat gathering dust in the cupboard for long enough. So I dug out my old (rather good) turntable, and started playing some them. It's one of those wonderful nostalgic moments, hearing stuff like Elton John's "Tumbleweed Connection", ELO's "Out of the Blue", The Beatles' "Sargeant Pepper", and Steve Winwood's "Talking Back to the Night" for the first time in decades. Actually I'd forgotten just how many LP's I have got. So this gig should last me for months!
The only problem is that I can no longer play my 78's - such as Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog" (the first record I ever bought), because the turntable only has 33 and 45 settings.
As you can see, I'm not a highbrow!
Anyone else got any tasty old vinyl?
