I though i would share with the world that i am currently having a very positive experience working with my local CO.
I would like to think that this is partly a result of my approach to the restoration and improvement of the building, which is grade 2 listed.
So far we have not had a crossed word. I have telephoned and emailed him regularly asking advice and reccomendations where appropriate. He has not wrapped me in red tape. It is all running smoothly.....
I have heard so many horror stories about CO's which made me think they were difficult to work with, but it seems we are bot working towards the same end...sympathetically restoring a unique and interesting building to its former glory.
he said to me in the beginning 'repair rather than replace where possible and repairs should be like for like' simple!
