Well, MdB, I suppose I should say 'thank you' to you for that set of gorgeous photos - but I'm not sure I can. All you've managed to do is upset me, 'cos...
...I wanna be there!!
So many memories. We used to sail my grandfather's boat around from St Mawes each year, to participate in Restronguet regatta. We had to sell her when he died, because being very deep draught she was unsuitable for East Anglian waters. But I recently had contact with a chap who discovered her in a very poor state in Mylor creek, and has restored her.
And my auntie was married in the beautiful little church in St Just in Roseland.
Here's the boat, with St Mawes in the background (poor scan of a very old colour print). You can just make out the little church spire near the right-hand edge of the picture - my grandparents (and my mother and I during the war) lived just below the church:
I've sipped a refreshing beverage in the Pandora Inn once or twice, but not for decades. I imagine it's all very posh and bijou now.
