A big problem maybe

Hi all,
Nothing to do with my period property but my central heating, does anybody no how to put pressure back into the boiler, hubby has been bleeding some rads, next day no heating, no pressure on the guage to megaflo tank and no ignition flame to boiler, does any one think we have done this. Need help if possible.

use 2 people for this and turn off the boiler, open rads, find filling loop (small length of flexible metal pipe near megaflow) and turn on both valves to fill system with water, have 1 person on the valves and the other wait until water comes from fist rad in series then close - run to next do the same until all rads are bleed. Watch presure gadge until about 2 bar. if you have a problem yell to the person on the valves to turn off the water.

If the system is represurised it should re light as it will have a auto shut off if no water in system.

We have a pressurised system with a mega-flow and learned by
accident(!!!) only ever to bleed radiators when heating is OFF!!!!!

We to have found out the hard way
Still I have told the hubby if he is to be a bleeder do it when it is off as it pulls air through the pump and loses pressure.

Still all toasty and dandy as luck would have it with my new found info about 9.30 last night I hot footed up stairs with my torch in one hand and not a lot else in the other and I did it.

Saved him a few bob even if he did cause it (men) :wink:

sorry didnt come in here last nigth... went to bed early as the electric blanket is on ((bliss))and its cold int caravan. did you have a tap to add water to the system? on a flexible hose? everyone should know how therir systems work and top tip... turn all your water valves off then on twice a year.. it stops all the problems of them sticking up and if its too late they have stuck at least you can do something about it before it becomes an issue!!

Yeah found the filling loop and put pressure back and all fine and I will keep my eye on him indoors not to mention the system, im afraid the other half just aint cut out for diy, central heating going wrong etc etc etc, not to worry.
