So we recently moved into a new house, and much as it is a period I admire I know nothing about it really. I’m unsure of styles, paint colours, window dressings, doors (paint or not?) etc. It does have old uPVC windows, which work and aren’t ready to be replaced just yet, but I don’t even know what style would be appropriate when we do. I’ve bought a couple of books but they have been unfruitful. Any advice of decent books, resources etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pics for tax.
The pink fireplace is in the downstairs hallway, the green in the dining room, and the black (needs stripping, the tiles were at one time cream) in the living room. The tiles are only in the porch but gorgeous, a small area needs redoing as the tiles are loose, the rest of downstairs is laminate and the previous owners say it’s concrete underneath, I haven’t investigated yet. The servants bell system work in about 60% of the rooms.
