12mm Double Glazing units for Sash window

hi everyone...When we had our sash windows made they were fitted with 12mm DG units.
I dont think the quality was very high as a number have failed.(about 10)
I went to a local glass company, he advised that "slimline" units are circa£90 ?!?!, so had a 14mm unit made up (£15) to see if it would fit...it does but only with a single mm for putty!
looking online there are specialist companies that make 12mm units, but they sound expensive (havent been brave enought to get a quote yet)

Any experience/advice?

No experience of the units - but I do know that traditional linseed putty destroys the seal on double-glazing

Metal casement putty - hard to find now - is OK.

less than a 1/16" is however not OK.

These 3:4:3 units will fit, and they can be made with hand-made wonky glass.

We had a very high failure rate with the sealed units supplied with our 1991 conservatory. In the doors, windows, roof, I'd say over 60% failed.
Otoh, the 1" units I had made for our sash windows in 1982 never failed.

Their manufacture needs a high standard of care. It does deter me from trying them here, but if I do, it will probably be the 3:4:3 Holloseals, with hand-made glass.

Yes, relatively expensive, but what is they say... 'buy cheap buy twice'.
