I remember seeing this on Lindisfarne many years ago. Long before that bloody silly "Shed-Boat-Shed" installation at Tate Modern.

Ben Knox who owned the beach in Local Hero (1983) lived in a boat - he didn't want an oil terminal built on it.

This was the best image I could find i.e. not the good of the boat.
He had to climb in through that window as there was no door.

It was on recently (Film4 I think) and was a great deal better than I remembered. Funny and very British (Scottish) without being 'Hugh Grant' - kind of a modern Whisky Galore (which I also love).
